... well thats what it says on the bike.

Cagiva river, odd one never seen one before. Had to have one for touring round europe on and always been an Italian fan so this seemed a wise choice, not many bikes come with paniers as standard.

Has same brakes as the monster and shares the same wheels/suspension as a cagiva mito/planet, so sticks to the road like glue for a toury type bike, really light too.

Single cylinder should provide the reliablity im after. Lock nut and screw for easy vavle clearance. Does around 60-70mpg, it sips petrol Mr. Green

Still getting use to riding a single though, really different style.

Cheers to R4nger who gave me a lift down to Bournemouth last thursday to pick this fella up.

Power is nice/different at low down, sucks from 70-80mph+ But it feels like tick over at 70mph, touchs 100-105mph and then gives up.

Just amazed at it's mpg though. 74miles used around 1/8 of a tank.

I never get rid of the monster, still my main weapon of choice at the moment!

I actually always wanted one of those or the canyon 500. Shocked Looking at that mpg, I think I still want one. Laughing

And matching luggage too, Thumbs Up

Much was it if you don't mind me asking? And the mileage too. Very Happy

Sportauspuff on your left pannier means Sports exhaust in German by the way.

Looks like a cool little bike. Was it this bike that was 33bhp as standard? Or am I thinking of something else.

I got it for £785 inc a real cagiva workshop manual, service book full to the brim, datatagged, 20,000 miles.

The gpz305 is a mates who is borrowing a bike of mine.

Sportauspuff meaning sports exhaust well this one doesn't have one, shame really would like to hear the single's noise.

The cagiva river 500 was the 33bhp one. No way was I getting that one, doesn't come with panniers either.

The brakes are good, the ebc HH sintered pads are an improvement over OE, but the OE pads won't kill discs.

Everyone slags Cagiva off, but i've had no major problems with mine at all.

How do you find the forks? I've heard people say they're a tad soft, but they feel fine on my planet, or at least they did before the fork seal clamped on to the stanchion and came right out!

Well I've owned a planet before and own a monster at the moment. Has the same brakes as the monster/planet. Same wheels as the mito/planet. So it's like having a mix of bikes into one, very good too. Love how USD's take the road so no problem for me.

i like the idea of a tourer that sips petrol, and that handles like a mito

Yeah, it's more like a big boy planet. The handling is weird it leans far over without feeling too far over, use to the monster having a really low ground clearance.

Might drop the forks to sharpen it up more, at the moment they are flush with the top yolk.

Wheelies in first with no clutch slip, got to love the single cylinder. I was laughing to myself today going to work, I wheelied past some people and they looked shocked, then I realised I was on a tourer type bike and can only imagine how silly it must look... a bike with panniers wheeling. Thumbs Up

i guess being a single cylinder it must be good for commuting too, with lots of low rev torque, or is it geared more for the open road ?

Mmm both lol. It is pretty guttless after 80mph but just sits there, so guess it has tall gearing.

It loves over taking cars on country roads, bit like the monster does. You don't have to knock it down a gear just open the throttle a little and it's there.
