I have a Bandit 1200 (dyno'd at 121bhp) I have a hagon shock,30mm jack up kit and ohlins springs. I fancy a newer bike at the end of this yr when i've paid up my loan. as for power my bike has all the power i need i just want it to go where i point it. I'm thinking of either a speed tripple or an aprillia tuono. I'm not too bothered about overall power i just need the thing to go where i want it to go not where it decides to take me. im not into sports bikes, i cant get on with the head down arse up position anyone have either of these bikes of offer an alternative?

falco, tuono and rsv are diffent styles but with a lot of common bits

falco is more of a sports tourer so you wont be uncomfy

You may find a Tuono a bit vicious as its more or less a Mille with a bar raiser fitted (bit like a nice GSXR streetfighter Wink ).

Speed triple would be a good choice, or maybe a SV1000 but you may find a SV a bit timid in the engine department after the bandit.

I like the idea of viscious power delevery Twisted Evil The thing thats holding me back on the tuono is the build quality, The speed tripple looks like it might be the winner. I'm not too fussed on the sv1000. i believe they are a bit soft both on the power and handling and i dont want to have to start spending on the new bike like i have this one. Did look at putting flat bars onto a TL 1000 but again I'd have to start sorting the suspension out to do what i want to do with it. (By the way i do spend a bit of time on the track)
Nick.

How much are you looking to spend? As far as bruising streetbikes go, my money would be on a KTM Superduke.

The tuono holds up well, it uses another manufacturer's engine, a polaris if i'm not mistaken - i may be totally wrong on thet though. They had a recall last year about the swingarms cracking, so if you buy used, make sure that's been addressed. Personally, i think the old tuonos liik shite anyway, so i'd hope you're buying new.

Thought about a big V-twin? I'm getting along SV1000 lines here. Could be worth exploring.

If thats your thing and your not keen on the TL then try a street fighter'd Firestorm. Cheap too, a mate of mine bought a sweet 99model for £1900 with every trick part you could dream of.

They are a REALLY nice bike, RSV engine and top notch suspension so they have no problems keeping up with 1ltr sports. Only downside is if you drop one......

I'd reckon on spending upto £7000. I rode the firestorm and found it way down on grunt compared to my bandit. Maybe the way to go is put flat bars on a sports bike.....maybe an old gsxr 1100...,mmmm that engine....

seriously though I want something that has roughly the power and grunt i have now but i can put it on its ear without wobbling all over the place. I know all the lastest sports bike have a zillion horses (i've rode a few different 05 sports bikes) and i also know through riding the bikes and riding against them on the track it's all about useable power. I'm sure the fairing would help save the water pump and clutch cover. I'd only contemplate a half faired over fully faired if i could get R&Gs for it.

If you want a bike that goes where you want it to go and not a bike that goes whatever you want.... then do'nt go fo a gsx-r 1100.
