has never ridden anything more than a 50cc scootay,

He's just asked me to shot him how to ride Lexy, his check is cleared and she's paid for even if he does crash her into a wall.

But what are the things I need to remeber to point out?

Gears
Kill switch,
chain adjustment,
2t oil top up
spark plug.

anything you lot can think of other than the above?

quick responses required as he's only coming from tuther side of coventry.

Thanks
Simple

Is it too late to say I want to keep her? Crying or Very sad

Clutch, though that goes with the gears, of course.

Make sure he knows how to find the biting point and that he knows he has to pull it in when he comes to a stop, etc.

Dont forget to tell him how to use the fuel tap properly...like which is on, off and reserve. Also show him how to get the seat off using the key in the lock at the back and by pulling down on the lever.

Maybe he might need to know your usual start up routine...e.g choke, ignition on, turn off choke etc..

Prtect yourself against the scam of not sending off the form and you getting lumbered with speeding and parking tickets etc.
Get proof of his address, preferably his driving licence.

Print out two copies of a receipt with the reg no on it. Both of you sign it and date and time it. If you want - even take a pic of it with your camera phone.

If he quibbles tell him you went through a spped camera yesterday and it's to protect him.

He's gone, I'm not riding what he's bought and paid for, I'm more likely to crash than he is!

but I watched him leave (road is long and straight) he wobbled into a bus stop, stretched his legs, much to my amusement.
Then rode along the bus lane, through some red lights... Rolling Eyes

I couldnt watch anymore,

he's got his mate following him and he was properly kitted up (jacket gloves lid) no L plates on, but it's his license.

She's gone Sad garage looks empty...

so what shall I buy next? Laughing

I fell all weird, never sold a bike before

After he got used to the clutch and idea of gears he was okay, he's more confident on it than I was moving it round the yard to ide it up and down the drive.

Yes method, the NSR has brakes, pretty good ones too Exclamation

no receipt of sale, but He's paid by cheque which has cleared.
I checked his license and number all was correct.

I have the V5 and watched him fill out the suplement, I will send off the V5 as soon as dad gets home and signs it as it's in his name.

Ooo I miss Lexy already Crying or Very sad

I love the smell of 2t..it's an addiction Embarassed

Cheers for your help guys and gals

I didn't say a 2006 model Smile.

There was someone selling a taxed/mot'd 99 EC250 which needed the bottom end bearing do if I remember - bloke reckoned a dealer would charge about £100 to do it - he wanted £800.

I was quite sad to see my 350 Enduro go - I paid £450 and got a load of use out of it, then sold it for £435 - only major problem I sold it with was the rear brake needing a decent service.

I've got a maximum of £600 to spend once I've reimbursed dad for the GPZ.

I should be able to get a DR I think for playing with on the farm

When i sold my 50cc scooter a few years back, i offered to ride it to the blokes house about 10 miles away as he had never ridden a 2 wheeled machine before.
He refused and rode the whole way back with no helmet as he "could'nt be arsed to buy one"

LOL.

Sounds like when I sold my little TS years ago. Some bast had stolen the clocks, exhaust and a few other bits when I left it in the garden after the throttle cable snapped. I offered to get the bits off a mates bike and ride it down to Southend for him and I'd get the train back, but he refused and took it home on the train! I still dont know whether he got on OK, but he paid me the full asking price so I didn't really care.

Hi

Not sure these days, but you could do it in the past. When I moved over from Northern Ireland I took the ferry to Liverpool and then stuck the bike (little Honda H100) on the train down to Winchester (changed in Birmingham).

All the best

God knows mate, he was adamant he'd take it home though, and once he'd given me the money and signed the forms I coudn't of cared less what he did.
