Hi guys,
My ZZR400, having issues with the gearbox,
basically during harsh accleration it jumps out of second and third gear back into neutral, which isnt nice
i think its load related as when i have a passenger this happens lower in the RPM range.
Is this a gearbox issue? Would i have to remove the engine to fix it?
all help appreciated! |

Gears are fu*ked and its only going to get worst, plus its a full engine strip down to sort out.
very common on the ZZR600 and thundercat as well. ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Oh dear.. yes its the old problem.. the part to fix it is 50p but it does as has been said require a full engine strip..
Theres a guide online somewhere on how to do it (try some zzr forums) looks straightforward enough just a bit time consumeing!!
Not 100% sure but i think its the selector forks? worth changeing them and the selecter drum, i think they come to about £60 or so..
Out of interest how many miles are on the clock?
If you do a rebuild then it will look good when you come to sell (or at least anyone who knows what they are looking for)
Good luck
/The zzr600 lump is a good idea, 400/600 are almost idenicle appart from the 400's bore is smaller which makes the bike a sheeit load heavyer fromt he extra metal! ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
