Riding home from work tonight at about 10.30pm, I noticed that the dipped beam on my bike leaves a lot to be desired. I think this is a standard trait of the Thundercat?

Anything that I can do to improve it, without blinding people? Confused

The headlights on the Thunderace are crap too, a common fix which l have done is to fit a higher wattage halgon lamps l went from the standard twin 35w to twin 65w ones.

Just got in from a quick blast to get a kebab. Mr. Green

Tell you something, those are getting changed ASAP. 120mph with full beam on was just plain scary, I could not see far enough ahead. Thank God I knew the road, and that is was perfectly straight.

Any excuse eh? Laughing

Halogen bulbs mate, just fitted some to my bandit just because i liked the bluey tinge. The area lit up by my full beam lights is MAHOOSIVE!

You shouldn't do this because it can bugger your bulbs, but with low beam on (so no other vehicles about) I often pull the 'pass' switch to hold high beam on as well.
This usually keeps both filaments of the bulb lit.

As I said, not reccomended though, because the bulbs aren't meant to take the increased heat for extended periods, though I haven't blown a bulb because of it yet.

Are you sure the headlamp aim is correct? If it's set too low your lights will not point far enough up the road to see where you're going. If it's set too high your lights will dissapear into the blackness, again meaning you can't see very much.

Always try the simple thing first Smile
