Well my poor bikes down again, this time without me on it, It was parked outside the mrs's house on a hill, in gear, stearing lock on, in a huge space behind a punto. The woman next door walked past my bike to get to her punto, still didnt see it when she slammed it into reverse in a rush to get somewere.
Total damage is cracked mudguard, bent clutchlever, also the switch wich operates the starter is broken, bent footpeg and a snapped gear exchanger.
Got hold of her and we agree its not worth the insurance getting involved, so weve decided to get a price for the parts.
Has anyone ever gone through this and the people turned nasty about it? were do i stand towards it backfiring?
Cheers, Steve. ____________________ Current : 06 Zx10r, 07 Wr450f SM, 74 850 norton commando, 63 bsa b40, 1962 Triton 650, 67 Triumph Tr6r, 1955 Triton 750, 1978 TY250E. |

Well the thing is, i got knocked off a few months back and its still pending, so the bikes waiting to be payed for.
If i do go through the insurance, they may say the damages were already there :S
She seemed okay about it on the phone, and seemed VERY happy that i said not to go through the insurance, altho her husband, is a big scotsman, seems okay, but get the feeling hel try stick up for his mrs.

She's not just some woman you've had an accident with, she's the woman next door. Get a quote (or two) from local dealers and let her see them. Then let her decide if she wants to pay up or go through the insurance.
If it was a stranger, you may as well just go through the insurance. Any repair these days will cost you several hundred pounds by the time labour is added. ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |
