MCN go on about how they have proved speed cameras cant get bikes anymore as they have never been tested on them and give a false reading etc...
ive heard stories backing this and others saying ignore it they can do you for speeding with this that and the other type of camera's etc.....
im confused
what speed cameras can do you and what can't?
Speed Gun
Police in car camera
Back window of a camera van parked up in layby
Gatso
Them yellow cameras that judge speed over 1 mile on motorways
I approached a camera van opposite side of road yesterday at approx 140mph on the way to Windermere and im cacking it a bit, i slowed down but think he got me and they will have my plate as dont they have cameras in the front now aswell for this reason, 2 weeks to wait for brown envelope
or does someone know if il be ok? ____________________ Previous zxr400 - Current ZXR636 late'03

If you were doing well over the limit you should just accept the penalty.
MCN wrote a huge article about this shortly after I was caught doing 58 in a 50, now, the percentage I could have been over 50 is very little, but you add this with the fact the camera can not get an accurate reading from a bikes rear, and I was probably travelling at the right speed.
You can have a go in court if you want but I wouldn’t quote MCN’s findings, they seriously don’t give a shit. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

At 140 it's going to be pretty hard to read and write down a numberplate. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |

darren: u seem to think il be safe
you playing wid my balls or what?
is this a true statement of camera answers?
if they dont have forward facing cameras in the vans what are all them black units in the front window?
just to clarify in case people think i was in a 30zone........
i was doing approx 135-140mph just coming off a 2 lane duel carriageway into a 1 laner round a large sweeping bend when i spotted the yellow/orange van with black back window (see pic). he was opposite side of the road so i was heading towards him. i slammed on the brakes so hard and got below 50 rather quickly and piddled passed him my mate did same now i know these vans have cameras fixed in the front windscreen to get bikes as other wise we would never ever get done would we so it surely must be able to detect a bikes speed.
i know im awaiting the brown envelope, i know i was wrong and hey i know it was my own stupid fault but the point of this post was that i was wondering what people knew the real facts about this camera detecting bikes argument as it would help others aswell as me for the future.
thanks for listening.......... ____________________ Previous zxr400 - Current ZXR636 late'03

If the camera takes a reading using red shift of a light wave, then you're scott free if they can't prove it hit your numberplate. It could have hit a spoke, tyre tread or anything, and give a crazily false reading.
That camera van looks like it uses a light gun, too so if you contest that you can get off the hook with relatively little squirming.

beware people these sunny weekends on open roads they are waiting for us, im gonna keep it nippy on the bends now and chill on the straights keep that for motorways and trackdays.
cheers all! ____________________ Previous zxr400 - Current ZXR636 late'03
