But not too tight Wink

Suzuki boxes are famous for their reliability. My gearchange gets stiff sometimes and it's down to a build-up of crud where the lever pivots on the footrest and the change shaft comes through the sprocket cover.

Strip, clean and re-grease sorts it.

Thumbs Up He's right and particularly as yours is a Bandit, they're famous for it, get it cleaned up. If you leave it too long it gets really bad and the nylon/plastic bush in the gear lever can end up damaged when you try to remove the lever, you have to buy a complete gear lever then as they don't sell the bush on it's own Sad

No, just the gear linkage and maybe the clutch link. they are outside of the main gearbox.

It isn't just a plain direct gearlever it's got the linkage as well which amplifies problems, crud builds up at different points, particularly in the lever pivot and it starts to jam just take the lever and linkage off and give it a good clean.

where the pedal (34) pivots on the footrest and where shaft (26) comes through the sprocket cover.

You'll need to remove bolt 38 and pull the knuckle off the splines, then take the sprocket cover off and make sure the hole is clean (fine round file) and use fine emery to get any corrosion/muck off the shaft itself.
