You want my advice.. if its running leave it alone, no significant power gain can be made with filters and pipes unless its restricted somehow

At best it will run like shart, at worst it will run too lean, seize and spit you off into oncomeing trafic.. to make it run propperly it will need a profdessional to do it, £200 your looking at minimum, £500 would get you a bike that will be much faster (something like a ratty nsr, they will do 80 on a good day)

Keeping it well maintained, feeding it the best fully synthetic oil and (maybe) decokeing the engine will keep it at its potential

I'm with Mr Z, there'll be no real advantage to fitting a K&N air filter, you'll spend a fair bit of cash and have a bike that feels exactly the same to ride at best, and runs lean at worst. It's pretty unlikely that the airbox is currently causing a restriction leading to loss of power.

I was told that you're bike has to be jetted if you get a filter, also that it's bad new to get them wet? My mate got one & he just had probloms with it, nothing good from it apart form the sound.

Nice bike BTW.

Yup ! as said above - if you fit an open filter you will need to upjet the carb .
I think the malaguti's use the horizontal minarelli engine ( same as mine ) and to be fair they're tempremental at the best of times .

If you just whack a filter on it is going to make your bike a lot worse - it will bog down from pull off for a start and ruin the carb mix !

Not worth it mate Wink

I had an aerox 100 (minarelli horizontal) fitted a conical steel mesh filter quite similar to the k+n ones went up 3 jet sizes and it didnt half go! had to change roller weight to suit the new power band though (i think the max power moved up a couple of 1000revs), Still you gotta change the mix to suit the weather (or it will run w*nk) and the initial setup took me nearly 3 hours (get idle burning right and it knocks mid out-get mid and idle right top has gone etc etc)

DONT FIT IT
