Hi, just a quick question, what are "ideal" pressures for a '91 CBR600 FM? Can't find it in Haynes, unless I'm not looking right. Cheers guys

You should be able to find a sticker under your seat (or maybe on the chain guard) that lets you know the recommended tyre pressure Thumbs Up

Ta. also can a puncture be repaired like a car tyre, or does it mean new tyre?? It's not a massive thing, just looks like a small panel pin type nail in the main face of the tyre, not in the tread. Ta again

Depends where the nail/screw/glass/dagger is in the tread. If its near the center of the tyre then you will be fine but at the edges then it may fail due to the flex in the sidewall.

The pressures on the sidewall are the max pressures for the tyre, not the pressures to use.

Look for a sticker on the swingarm or look in the owners manual.

That sounds stupidly high. My last two bikes were 36-38 rear and about 32 front.

As said depends on where and the tyre rating.
In the centre of the tread is ok.
However, if the tyre is Z speed rated then no, it can't be patched/plugged. That's not been funny, it's the law.

My friend had a z rated tyre plugged from a dodgy tyre place by a guy "on his lunch break" for £20. Did the job. Confused

Probably sorted by now but......

Yep....depends where you go...some places won't touch it but others will ask if you still want it doing as is is a z rated tyre. Worth shopping around. Wink

Quite possibly true. However, if found out then they could get hammered (if anyone can be arsed with the paperwork Rolling Eyes).

However, worth bearing in mind if you have an off, even if the tyre was not to blame, and the insurance found it's been plugged when it shouldn't then they can invalidate your insurance. So if they do that then the police may take an interest in you riding without insurance, etc, etc.

Just some thoughts, probably pointing out the obvious Karma
