 |
|
Looking to buy my first set of 1 peice leathers on friday just looking for general advice.
Ive been told various things but im gonna be looking at leathers that are nice and tight when i try em so that they wont be massively baggy when they have given a little after a few rides.
The other thing is that im 6'4" and about 13 stone (ie tall and thin) - ive been told that alpinestar leathers may accommodate my frame better than some other brands as im finding stuff ive bought so far a little too short on the sleeves/legs
Other than that im thinking maybe made to measure lethers may be the best bet as i have a fair bit to spend.
Can anyone recommend good stores to check out in the lancashire / yorkshire area?
And as a side note can anyone recommend some good non flick chain lube? Ive been using Wurth dry chain lube for 6 months now but everytime my bike is in the garage they rollock me for not looking after my chain, dunno whether they just dont realise that its dry or whether it is actually crap.
Newbish questions ended |

Just put a deposit on some new Frank Thomas leathers. £150 for top and bottom. They fit well as well. Seems a good deal to me, or is Frank Thomas a cheap make or summin? ____________________ Cagiva Mito 125 (sold)

Avoid Alpinestars like the fucking plague mate!
I have a set of Vectors for £699 and the seam burst when I had a 30mph crash last week. I should have taken the reviews i read seriously cos they scored very low in Rides grouptest last year and we're noted for their seems bursting.
A MCN writer had a bigger crash and the seams burst on him, he rated then very highly as he said he didn't get hurt and thats all what counted.
They do look nice tho.
*edit*
Was in Hein Gerike in Leeds last week and they stock Alpinestars and Arlen Ness and quite a few others. |

after about 300 miles in the leathers ive got no complaints other than my sidi boots dont match em and my arse keeps slipping all over my seat now :/ |
