Hello from the Caribbean!

Having a wicked time out here. I spent the first 3 days getting my PADI Open Water diving certificate.

Yesterday we just chilled out at home, read our books and caught up on the sleep we'd missed out on over the previous few days.

Today we're off to the beach to maybe do some snorkelling over the reef, read more books and generally chill out. Going to write our postcards too! Smile

Here's some pictures from the flight over, the sunset from our first night here and some of my first dive towards my PADI certificate. Might post some pictures from the beach if I take my camera with me today.

Hope you're all having a good time back home, and that you've still got the nice hot weather.

I started my PADI course and completed all the academic bits and the exercises, but couldn't make it past 20 feet due to intense pain in my ears Sad

We think I may have an ear infection... so instead of diving, I followed the dives from the surface - the water is so clear you can see 80 feet down or more! However, having spent three days floating on the surface I am now a nice dirty brown colour (with another 11 days left to perfect the crispyness Very Happy

)

We're really enjoying spending time with Jon's baby nephew who is growing quickly and now can impress every beautiful bar maid by saying "beer" Wink

Anyhows, 34 degrees outside, perfect sunshine - time to go snorkelling or relaxing on the beautiful white sandy beach - got to keep up our energy for this evening's planned entertainment of pizza and Ice Hockey!

There will be plenty more photographs of glorious blue skies and perfectly clear seas to come Very Happy

I want to come. Looks amazing, when I went to Rhodes I just spend hours every day snorkeling round, it's beautiful. Would love to do it in that climate, and do some proper diving.

Haaaaaaaa well it's bloody sunny here too, in fact about 36 degrees!! It's national free beer weekend this weekend at every pub in the country and all the sexy ladies have been walking about naked because it's so warm. Bet you're jealous now arn't ya....eh...ehhh........eh.

We're staying with my sister, and her PC is on most of the time. Just figured you'd all be happier if you knew we were having a good time! Wink

And yeah - Ice Hockey. It's on the TV, we're not playing. Apparently one of my sister's neighbours is really into it, and it's some final or something tonight. So, Ice Hockey, pizza and beer. Can't complain really. (It's all free! Very Happy

)

So, yesterday morning we went to the beach, and as promised I took my camera to take some pictures of the awful weather we're having out here. Wink

After lunch we went into George Town, Grand Cayman's capital, and had a look round the shops. I bought a polarizer for my camera, and then we sat in a bar with a beer each writing our postcards. The day was made all the more amusing by the hoards of fat Americans walking around the place shouting "Oh My Gawwd" at everything and anything. The cause of so many fat Americans about the place? 3 massive cruise ships in the harbour!

After a day out in town, we then went back to the beach to watch the sun set, before going home for our Ice Hockey/Beer/Pizza night.

Sister had major problems diving in Morocco and turned out it was something do to with her inner ear just a weakness but listen to the pain and maybe stay on terra firma!!!

I'm going to Egypt at the end of June for a fortnight, 5* hotel on an island in the Nile, first class flights, right to Luxor where I can be my geeky self and nose around old things Smile
