Lately my oil light has been coming on whenever i stop for a short period of time, even a few seconds sometimes.
It did it when i was stopped in traffic for a few minutes on a rainey day so it cant be the heat.

As soon as i ride off it goes out, what could be causing this?

Im going to change the oil tomorrow see if that helps.

When in neutral your oil light usually comes on, on most 2 strokes

Hi

If the oil is particularly knackered then it might do it, but I would suspect it is a touch more serious. You could do with getting a proper oil pressure gauge on there to check what it really is (could just be the switch rather than a serious engine problem).

Had a similar problem with a GPZ500 years ago. O ring between the sump plate and the engine had gone resulting in low oil pressure. Killed the crank.

All the best

Keith

It will be low oil pressure, usually down to either low oil or a clogged filter.

I'd recomend replacing the filter and an oil change.
