Hi all, i got a Alpinestar T-Dyno Jacket, Andf the white bits are faily dirty, It says not to dry clean the jacket. How shall i wash it or clean it then?

I have a small steamer at home, could i use this? Or will the jacket become less waterproof?

Thanks

I just took the armour out and put mine in the washer on the lowest heat setting.with some nikwax. It came out fine, no shinkage and seems to have kept it's waterproofing.

I agree. Use the green nikwax to clean and the purple one to reproof and maintain water repellency. Available from most bike and camping shops.

look at the care label inside the garment.

it should go in the washer. if not, hand wash it in luke warm water in the bath with mild hand wash liquid for wools and delicates.

you can rub vanish on bright collours to get them clean.

then air off to dry on a coat hanger on the line when dry.

apply re proofing such as nik wax or spraying / applying more to seams......

Thumbs Up

I have just washed one of ours, took all the armour out, washed it on a 40 wash then washed it again with some stuff called "TX.DIRECT" by Nikwax, its a wash in waterproofer. Got it from Millets.

Yep I've done this with my Akito textiles too. All seems to be fine, with no shrinkage or problems

that stuff from a camping shop, cant remember the name, some of that in a sink and hand wash it, you need to scub for about and hour to get the roadgrim off but 95% does.

Dont put it in something hot, could shrink it i think

Though i realy doubt the white will all ever turn white again, trust me Thumbs Up
