+1 for carb icing. You can get additives for your fuel that dissolves the ice as soon as it forms, try putting some of that through.

It's not cold enough for carb icing yet.
Could be carbs need balancing.

Depends where he is in the world, don't ya think?

Rolling Eyes

Out in the sticks or 'oop North' I can easily see it being cold enough at night.

It's definitely cold enough for carb icing. My bandit would do it if I rode in the shadows in the summer.

You want some proFST fuel additive, whack it in with your petrol and all will be good.

People do say a bit of surgical spirit does the same thing, and will certainly be cheaper.

Hi

Carb icing doesn't need it to be that cold. If it gets cold enough then it ceases to be a problem. Perfect conditions are low temps around zero and damp air (if it gets too cold and there ceases to be enough moitsure in the air to cause a problem). Generally will be OK at low speeds / revs where the heat has a chance to soak into the carbs and the air speed / volume through the carbs is reduced (so getting stuck in traffic tends to fix it).

Bandit should have electric carb heaters (most of the 600s anyway). Check they haven't become disconnected.

Trying an additive might be worthwhile to see if it fixes the problem.

However should say that carb icing is not as common as some people think.

All the best

Keith
