Sender was probably faulty and is now working if it's only going up half way.

Clean the linkage on the gear selector and re grease it to see if it helps. Is your clutch adjusted properly?

sounds like the clutch is dragging as said. as for the temp gauge, just keep an eye on it and make sure your rad is not covered in crap at the front. not familiar with your bike but if it has a fan, check to see if it comes on.

when the temp go to the middle it could be 3 causses :
- thermostat inside de head pipe is malfunctioning *
- cylinder head gasket starting to worn
- water pump has a problem
if the neutral is hard to find it's mostly because the engine warm too much . test it when engine is cold , i think you wont find the same problem

* this is easy to test :
- drain cooling liquid
- undo the 2 nuts and take off the pipe (the thermostat is inside)
- drop the thermostat in a pan with water and warm it
- just before the water start to bubble , the thermostat must be open

ok i asume neutral is half a click up from 1st....

put it in first gear, pushup very slightly with the clutch fully in and roll the bike farward while still pushing up with your left foot.

if it goes into neutral fine, your clutch just neds adjusting.

if you dont understand that, let me know. Very Happy

hope this helps!

Hey..

yes, Start the bike and let it warm up.
get on the bike and put it into first gear like normal.
keep the clutch in fully and roll the bike forward slowly
while the bike is rolling, try and put it into neutral like normal.

just makesure the clutch is fully in and the bike and rolling a little.

if you cant get it into neutral when the bike is running....

that could be down to the wrong oil making the plates stick?
running low on oil?
clutch screws being to soft?
snapped clutch cable Laughing
bad set up of the clutch?

have you rebuilt the engine or changed anything?

have you checked your oil level?
also have you checked you have enough collant in?

i have not rebuilt the engine atal.

to be honest im useless on bikes lol.. i did run really low on oil but then i toped it up!!

is flicks into neutral wen the bikes not on which is odd!!
i recently got the brake pads changed, also i did fall off the bike bout 2 months ago so it couldn't be that i dont fink.

where would the coolant be?? like where could i find out if i need to fill it up?

what coolant would i need is there a special coolant for bikes? could this sort out my overheating problem also?
with the overheating it only goes up half way but no where near the red, thats when im stuck in traffic, but when i was flowing it went straight back down. ive only just noticed this temperature gauge working as it always stayed in the same place pretty much intill a month ago!

the bike doesnt goes into neutral when the bike is running because the gears havnt steopping spinning making the bike jump from 1st gear to 2nd gear (2nd to 1st if you wona be fussy Confused )

thats why if you roll the bike farward while trying to put it itno neutral it shout go in alot easyer!

I think you have a honda nsr 125?
you will need to take the fairings off from 1 side of the bike, take the radiator cap off and just put some normal tap water in, but over time tap water will rust up, so you can mix water and some sort of anti-freeze or somthing of the type 50 / 50 whenever you can get hold of some.

just let me know if you dont understand anything Very Happy

o i get you on the gears!!! i understand now LOL

sorry im new to this.

with the coolant would this help with the bike overheating situation or do you think it could be normal for this to happen??

would the coolant be the same as what you can put in a car or is it different

well, i guess its normal yes, the faster you go, the faster the water pump spins, and the more wind your getting making it cooler.

i think its still worth checking to see if your low, just nd case..

and yes, i use the same anti-freeze and water from my dads ford transit van Laughing

no problem.

the recommended mix is 50% water 50% antifreeze

mines more 90% water and 10% anti-freeze, but that is just because my dad put most of it in his van Laughing lol

as you have said you are new.... so pm me if you dont understand what people have said or have any more problems tomorrow!

Good luck! Mr. Green
