There's a 60 Ah battery which my Dad has left on charge downstairs. It's started making funny noises like there's some fluid evaporating from it. Should I turn it off or will it be safe to leave it?

Sealed battery, or the type that you have to keep topped up with distilled water?

If it's the sort where you have to check the electrolyte level, it might be a good idea to make sure it doesn't boil itself dry.

It's a regular battery rather than a sealed one, it was just unusually loud. Turns out my old man had left it on a very long time (his car has a broken alternator that he can't be arsed to get fixed). Thanks for your help, guys.
