Thanks.
Is it an Iron liner ? Thought it would be steel.
But then in all intents and purposes... wtf do I know!! This is my first rebuild project.
My main concern is that the rust will have eaten into the liner itself.
Man I'm so pissed with that, already cracked a sump bolt sleeve getting it out so new sump is needed, now this. ____________________ **WAS FITTED "WRONG WAY ROUND" !** CANT ACCOUNT FOR THE STUPID ! |

More than likely its just on the surface. I'd be more worried that the water had got down into the crank and bearing and rusted in there.
To be honest you'll probably find it all wipes off fairly easily.

If it were me, I'd run a honing tool through it and see what it looks like after.
This will necessitate removing the barrel.
If it's too far gone it's a case of either rebore with oversize pistons, new barrels or new liner. New liners can be fitted to most things but it all comes down to a) cost and b) availability.
In reality, you'll probably get a second hand set of barrels for around the £50 mark, maybe even a set of barrels complete with pistons for under £100. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
