Get a copy of the test PB did a couple of years ago with a CBR125. They modded one, and changed the gearing mainly, to see if it could reach 100mph in ideal conditions. It got into the mid 80's i think?

If you can splice together two pink powerbands that would be optimal, failing that you might as well stick a banging donk on it in lieu of the powerbands.

You should have done your research before buying the bike, you will never get anywhere near any 125 record on a 4 stroke. There are stock 2t bikes you can buy with twice the power of the cbr.

For a serious answer.

While you can probably get a bit more power from it, you are not going to gain much. A decently designed full exhaust (not just some bolt on can) might well move the torque further up the rev range and give you a bit more power. Possibly the same if you play around with different length trumpets on the carb. Skim the head and bring the compression up a bit and use supper unleaded fuel (but bear in mind that if you do this that using normal unleaded could lead to serious engine damage). Maybe clean the ports up a bit (find someone who knows what they are doing with gas flowing). Might get you a few more horsepower in total.

Simplest solution would be to source an engine from a CBR150. This is (I think) the engine that the CBR125 is based on, but not only has a higher capacity but also a 4 valve head. However this would be noticeably illegal on a learner licence.

While you could go silly and get a turbo or supercharger, you would really struggle to find one small enough, turbos are often said to be pains on single cylinder engines (too much change in the pressure that drives the turbo), and the cost would be way more than the bike is worth.

Roughly translating the above, forget it!

All the best

Keith

For world speed records they make you go in both directions and then take an average. He'd be fucked on the way up.

my YBR (similar engine) redlines out at 76mph(indicated), you'd have to change the gearing to go much higher on a cbr surely?

you need more than turbos and nos to get that near the world record for a 125cc which i believe is 150+ mph and looks like a rocket on 2 wheels

you would need custom cooling custom gearbox new engine basically question is why would you want to i would say it is possible to push out enough power to top out over 100mph in theory but you would need probably £5000+ and some numbers of top engineers to make the parts you would need!!

why bother
