Make sure all gasket faces are clean and flat, use a blunt plastic scraper, and some 400 wet and dry to remove bits of old gaskets.

i was lookin at a hrc manual today regarding the rebuild of a cbr 600 engine and it suggested moly grease mixed with engine oil as the assembly lube. So thats what we did, it will be a bit more sticky than just the oil on its own, so it should still be on there when you get around to starting it.
