... to either, drive a car for the rest of your life, or a bike. Would you choose comfort and warmth all year round. Or would you choose a bike, trekking through the winter... But then there's the Summer.

I think I'd go for a bike personally.

They are your only means of transportation. If you go anywhere in someone's else's car or bike, you ride shotgun.

Car. There's too many times I need to carry more than one passenger and their stuff. I could opt for bike, as long as the wife was happy to ferry me around Smile

Car.

But not a comfortable, warm one.

Easy, a car.

Can be just as fun/fast as a bike, very practical, no relying on others, warm, comfortable, full in car music, no leathers to wear, no chaining it up etc.

Now for the bike.

Fun... That's about it. And even that's only fun when it's not raining/cold, so it's a pretty bad deal for only a few months of summer.

Would have to be bike. I have both license entitlements and would only use the car one for van rentals and the like.
However, having said that I reckon by the time I'm 50+ (or 30 if I don't start making an effort on fitness) a car might start appealing a hell of a lot more and I'd be stuck with the bike as I made a deal with Redoko when I was only 22 that I could never drive again. The missus is only so useful at ferrying me around, I might need the employ of a chauffer.

I should be really choosing a car as I really need one but since I cant drive a car , dont really like them I stick to bikes if I was only allowed to choose one.

I epxected a lot more car enthusiasts because it is much more practical.

But my faith is saved because bikes are only marginally behind. Very Happy

Stupid question, the world does not work like that.
If I had to choose it would be a car, I need to carry stuff, I have grandkids etc.

Yea car would be my choice.

After 3 years of only owning a bike and now owning just a car, I cant believe I managed for so long without a car!

Sorted that for you, all of the real bikers I know own other vehicles. Some of the most real do not ride on the road at all.

Oh dear, did no one see the sarcasm in my post. Laughing

I haven't ridden a bike since 2007 so couldn't care less what's classed as a being real biker.

You knows it, ya drippy metrosexual.

If I wanted to sit in a tin box and look like a cunt, I'd buy one of these:

and one of these:

Bike for me as ditching it would mean I'd have to pass my car test which I don't have the money or the inclination to do, at least not at the moment.

Like BlueX5, I'm probably a faster driver than rider in most situations, but speed isn't really what it's about for me.

Car without a doubt.
And as for summer, if you get the right car its just as much fun, possibly even better, than being on a bike at that time of year.

Bikes are becoming less and less appealing to me by the day as a mode of serious transport.Theyre just fun...and fast....and a good "other" option,

I chose bike, i read the question as i if i chose car i would never be able to ride another bike again...

6 Years so far with nothing but a bike for transport.

Anyway thats what friends are for let them get their car licence and then just rent a van when you need it. Fucked if i am going to give up bikes to be someone elses taxi...
