being the lovely person i am, today i stopped for a bikey type in a layby on the A38.
wouldnt start, yam SR125, turning really fast so probably fuckall compression.
so i go home, grab my toolbox, chuck it in the car then come back.

spark out, theres 0 compressions at all. the kid says he's changed the top end a few months ago, so rather than strip the engine at the side of the road, i see if his valve clearances have closed up in some vain attempt...

inspection covers off, one side had about 4mm clearance (yes, i know, it ran like that...) and the other... the valve spring was all wobbly, so safe to say, a dropped valve. unlucky.

anyway, while all this has gone on, some pikey cunt has pulled up in a car, grabbed the guys lid and gloves, and legged it!

his helmet was about 40 meters away from where he was trying to bump it before i got there, but i saw a car pull up and pull away so memorised the plate, then said he might want to go and get his gloves and lid. (it was dark).

needless to say, gone.

police phoned, and hopefully the police will find the fuckers who did it, and get compensation out of them for his ''arai lid and alpinestars gloves''.

If people will dare to steal bikes with owners sleeping in their own home just metres away i'm sure they'll pick up a helmet and gloves 40m from its owner and run off. I even remember hearing of someone trying to nick some guy's RS125 from a petrol station forecourt (jamming a screwdriver in the ignition and everything) while he was paying for his fuel (thief was successfully punched by bike's owner and legged it)!

After all, we all know there's no real deterrant to theft unless they get caught by the owner (and mullered as they rightly deserve - hence i applaud the punching of the would-be bike thief above). Our justice system just gives them a slap on the wrist. Or less.

My sympathies to the guy though, it's the last thing you need when you've dropped a valve (sounds major anyway). Or in fact at any time at all Confused

the worst bit is, people who own SR125's dont tend to have much money. it wasnt a very tidy bike, so obv well used.

its the guys only transport to get to college in cornwall from plymouth every day (about 20 miles each way, i went to the same college at 16).

so if anyone sees a red mazda, reg P678 KMO
please give it a kicking.

im thinking i might go rack up some speed tickets using that plate.

covdude. fuck the fuck off and buy a bike for 3 grand over the odds and build a birdhouse.

If I were you (or the fella involved) I would contact your local MAG / other bike organisations, and tell them the car details and what happened.

If I had time, I would post it on all bike related forums..and maybe even make some signs and put them on random roundabouts around the area...

You never know, someone might find them and give them some just desserts, key their car, chuck some aviation fuel over the bonnet or something equally as damaging to paint. Karma

I'm sure the real owner of the car those likely-cloned plates came from will be most happy at the advice you're giving Wink

That could well even be a stolen car which is returned to its rightful owner after being later abandoned, or be sold the next day to some poor guy who is now going to be randomly attacked by bikers everywhere he goes. It would probably be rather funny, if it wasn't such a nasty thing to happen.

Of course, if it is actually the "pikey" car, then please all do knock yourselves out.

Some people really are scum.

Isnt there a way to call the DVLA up and "as a car with reg P678 KMO is parked infront of my drive and need to contact the owner" to get their address?

Hope they get whats coming to them Thumbs Down

The fact that you are in a layby (even just having a fag break) is enough for most bikers to slow and give the thumbs up signal.

Not that I want to argue with your vast "biking experience". Wink

I'd like to say "well done" and have some Karma Karma for going out of your way to help the guy, didnt have to, but did.

Helmet and gloves probably a goner even if Police do find the car owner,

I'm sure this bloke is now your "bike friend" (said in a The Inbetweeners manor). for life.

Nice one!

i only did it because old bikes piss me off and break all the time. You dont see gsxrs at the side of the road intact.

That's integrity right there.
