I was earwigging a conversation today and some of the remarks surprised me. It basically started like this.

The bike is fairly expensive and the big end is starting to knock.

Its your daily driver you need for work. Do you . . . .

A. Keep riding it till she gives up and then replace the engine.

B. Sell her on soon as and buy something else.

C. Chop her in at a dealer for something else newer.

D. Pay £££ to have it fixed.

E. Something else

They didnt really come to a conclusion.
Just wondering how many of us would do the dishonest thing and palm the problem off onto a buyer. Think I would go for C.

C

Done that recently with a car. I wouldn't knowingly sell something faulty to a private buyer without telling them but I know many would.

In my experience a big end goes from knocking to terminal in a very short period of time. I'd rebuild the motor myself with a s/hand crank.
