short answer is no.
the 454 has a bore and stroke of 72.5 x 55.0 mm
and the 500 is 74.0 x 58.0 mm

so you have a longer stroke on the 500, which is where the problems would occur even if the barrels etc bolted to the bottom end,
the piston would come up 1.5mm short
you may be able to get a taller piston to compensate, who knows,
that would make it 74x 55mm so a 473cc
probably easier to get a en500 engine and try and bolt that in rather than changing top ends

Thanks for the answer's.I thought it would be a bit too good to be true.I have been offered the 500 lump that the top end is on but the gearbox is knackered, thats why i thought i might get away with swapping top end's.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer. Thumbs Up

its not to say its impossible,
if i had 2 gubbed engines, 1 with a good bottom end and 1 with a good top end,
and i didnt mind spending a bit on pistons,
then i would find a way of doing it,
but the reality of it is, that its probably cheaper and easier to buy a whole new engine

you could always get the barrel skimmed the distance the piston is short. Wouldnt cost much if you cant do it yourself.
