I love to pull wheelies on the ole R6. 1st gear are no problem, but 2nd and 3rd cant do very well at all.
I was going to stick a 50t renthal blue sprocket on the rear, but have been told that I would need to go down on the front.
Why? and what combination would you recommend for better take off and wheelies?

I'm running 14/50 520 sprockets at the moment, as opposed to the standard 16/48 532 settup. This combination keeps the total number of teeth the same, meaning the wheelbase is kept the same.
I have the 520 chain/sprockets because it reduces the rotational mass,- the first thing the engine has to move is the chain and sprockets, so by lessening their weight you allow the engine to spin up faster. This is a common mod done by racers. However it can make power delivery at low speeds a bit jerky.
Putting a 50t on the rear will not make much difference, dropping one tooth at the front will have more effect. Downgearing your bike will also make the speedo over read, and you will rack up more miles than you are actually doing, unless you correct it like Korn and TiN have done using a black robotics yellow box. ____________________ Gallery |
