You could try swapping the coils over and then see if it does the same thing to the same #1 plug. If it does, then it still sounds like it might be a carb issue, if it doesn't, then it's probably the coil.

Oh, and I take it the very same plugs are in all four pots..?

It sounds retarded but try and see if the plug is actually working. I bought a set of plugs once and one of them wasn't working so i'd check it even if it is new. Also check that the plug lead is fine Smile
Best of luck Smile

Good good. I've got iridiums myself, wish I'd checked what was in there before I changed them because it had dual electrode plugs in it. If it was a coil them two cylinders wouldn't firing. Drain your float bowls an see if theres any crap in the carbs. Don't really know what else to suggest sorry mate.

Have you checked the HT lead for continuity? Alternately, as as been suggested, look at your carbs. May have one playing sillybuggers.

So have you swapped no1 plug for one of the others and the problem stays with no1 cylinder? If yes have you checked the valves?

If the problem is with the plug measure the gap yourself. I had a set of brand new plugs that made mine run like shit because the gaps were all wrong.
