make sure you drain all the oil and drain the filter. If you overfill it it could shear your chuff nut and cause all sorts of problems ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. I'm a lazy broke bastard. I will go for the leave it option for the time being.
It's too bloody cold outside to be draining all the oil out ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

a mm is nothing, the full marks are only a rough guide. Even if there is too much then it'll either get burnt up or go out through the engine breather. ____________________ Current Bike- Suzuki DRZ400 SM K6

Not sure what other hole you mean is but some bikes have a little bolt that you can remove that is at the exact hight the oil should sit, so when the oil comes out of the hole you know for sure it is at the right level.
If you mean it was coming out of the filler hole then it is way to much, even I can tell you that ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

Start the bike up and rev it with the dipstick left out. You'll soon transfer the excess oil to the surrounding area. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I overfilled by a mm or two last time, it won't do any harm, but being the obsessive fucker that i am, i took a mcdonalds straw and syphoned the excess out. a tiny bit over will be fine unless you've got mental issues like me ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

Rubbish...
The loss of the Power Band is only temporary.
Soon as the excess 25ml of engine oil is used up the Power Band operates perfectly normal.
It is worrying at first though. |
lulz i was being sarcastic.
Although i did replace my snapped power band with a cheaper one from WHsmiths. I got 100 of them for £4.00! |

Bike seems way harder to start when cold that it did before I topped it up and gears seem clunky.
Maybe I should empty some out ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

you can fill it way past the fill level with no bad results,
the whole "you'll get excessively high oil pressure"
is a absolute bunch of shit, the oil pump decides how much oil to pump, it can't pump more oil because the level is higher, it will pump the same amount,
any excess oil will eventually be pumped out of the breather at the top of the rocker cover.

so the crank foaming the oil would have no detrimental effects whatsoever?
and i believe you missed the point of that post...
