Mine is a 1991.

Arrow If they are a H100A (way to tell is if it has an enclosed drive chain and you put two-stroke oil in a second hole in the petrol tank) they have CDI ignition.
Arrow H100S (it says H100S on the side panels) have a points ignition.
Arrow H100SII (also says on the side panels, this model also has an added 'fake' down tube in front of the engine) like mine, went back to CDI ignition. These were only made in 1990 and 1991 as far as I know. On the log book it will probably say H100SJ.

Here is mine. It is an SII as you can see from the side panels. Also note the downtubes, normal 'S' models don't have these, they are only cosmetic. HTH.

That's a II like mine so CDI ignition. To be doubly sure, whip off the left hand side panel when you go to view it (you can do this by putting a key in the slot and turning it 90 degrees) and there should be a CDI bolted onto the left hand side of the battery box. Thumbs Up

I was going to say rob, you are inviting a beat down by 27cows for getting a h100 instead of an rxs!

Apparently the gearing was terrible on them.

Did they all have a round head-lamp?
Looking at the picture, I thought, 'that looks wrong, shouldnt that be square'.... had to check the others, and they all seem to be round, but could have swarn the one I did my 'part one' test on whey back when, had a square one..... though It mught be a lingering memory of the view of 'Speedy' the lad on the RSX100 doing his at the same time, permenantly in my rear-view, hunched over the tank, insisting it was the fastest thing with an L-Plate!
We lost him during road training..... he was so intent on wringing every last ounce of speed out of the thing, that he missed the instructor yelling at him to turn left, utterly over-joyed at over-taking the six of us ahead of him, he didn't realise that he was following a random biker that had just passed all of us!
Some-times wonder what happened to him.... like did he follow the bloke all the way home?!?
What happened if he did?
Is he still roaming the wilds of rural warwickshire, trying to find his way back to Small Heath, leaving an ever thickening trail of two-stroke smoke!

H100s really aren't worth the effort. The motor is a thing of exceptionally poor design and ridiculous fragility. Handling of the SII is pretty good. But you can't rely on these bikes.

Don't be tempted, however cheap it is.

TADA! 27cows to the rescue! One hint of H100, RXS and/or 2 stroke/stroker and he's there!

Do you search the forums for any mention of it? Do you use the search function to do it Laughing?

That about the engine is bollocks. A friend of mine has clocked up 20,000 in the last 2 years, the bike has been abused to within an inch of its life, run out of oil 5 times, been run without gearbox oil, and been redlined EVERYWHERE.

That engine has NEVER missed a beat and always starts even in the snow and ice.

I have a points H100, and other than a retarded previous owner, I've never had any problems with it.

27cows hates the h100. Top quote one of the forum links I put above, G said 'I only chose the H100 to da annoy cows.'
