I've just put a CG back together from a box of bits, with a new barrel and piston, carbs cleaned . It starts after loads of hard kicks or a bump start and then runs but only on the throttle. I think it could be the timing as I've tried differnet carbs.

How do I check and adjust the timing ? The magneto sits on top of the points, but you can get at the wiring coming from the points to the coil.
