whip off the tank and check the connections where the engine loom joins the main loom (l/h/s of the frame)
these can corroded and often need some 'patient' cleaning out
mine was doing a similar thing and the above, and cleaning the earth connections seemed to sort it ouf  |

yes mine had no spark untill i wiggled the wiring at the point of the connectors, then it started straight up,
i still had no headlight untill i stripped and cleaned the connectors tho,
they looked clean enough but infact had a clear'ish coating of...... something yucky on them, some tarnish type crap that i had to gently scrape off with a blade, then clean with fine sandpaper,
