 |
|
Decided to rebuild the engine my self, have been using you tube as my guide.
now I can't get off any clutch bolts, engine bolts, had to cut off two cylinder head bolts. getting fed up now. first what could cause all these bolts to get stuck? the engine was only rebuilt a year ago, did it overheat or something?
secondly anyone fancy trying to undo the bolts? I live in the new forest and would pay whatever as long as it's less than the extortionate mechanics. getting very fed up!
oh I've tried literally everything even bought a blow torch today to heat the bolts up and still no luck |

If the side covers are held on with Philips get a screwdriver blade like this - stick it in the screw and give it a sharp "knock" with the hammer about 4 or 5 times to break the seal. Then use the mole-grips on the screwdriver blade pushing as hard as you can to stop it slipping. If the heads are already knacked - you're screwed
Are you soaking all these bolts in PlusGas?

I usually tighten them up a little first.
Just enough to "crack" seal which has formed over the years.

An impact driver. Or an impact screwdriver.
Do not use them on stuck fairing bolts as my mate did, putting a huge hole in the nose of his laverda. ____________________ Quietly and consistently taking the piss.
