Is there such a kit? I want to be able to use a bonnet type polisher with my angle grinder than to go out and buy another orbital polisher.

Or am I best off getting a kit for my drill?

Machine Mart used to do angle grinder polishing pads probably still do. Depends on what you're polishing really, if it's paint then a grinder will be too fast and powerful but fine on metal.

Angle grinder will be too fast for a polishing kit and wreck it instantly.

Did thought about doing it this way at this link

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=222429

Then using the angle grinder with some polishing compound on a felt pad using this

You'd have to check out the speed rating of that ebay kit fella if your solely going to use the rotary action of an angle grinder.
It looks like the sander used in the restoration link you posted has an orbital attachment fitted which may well be easier for you to use. Wink

you can buy a attachment to fit standard polishing mops that also fits your standard grinder at the other end . if i knew the direct name for them i would find you one . i will take a look in a bit

i polished a few engine cases with a drill once all i used was a bolt to hold the mops on the drill couple of nutts to hold it firm. using a drill works just fine however it will kill your drill . unless you have something heavy duty . this is a piece i did with it .its just 2 stage polished here grey/black and green . looked better afterwards

i dont reccomend using a drill but if your in a pinch and your drills heavy duty . may as well . theres not all that much to cover on the forks . no need to use any force on it really . if your drill brakes please forget my post Neutral
