hi all, new to this forum my friend has a problem with his shitray 49cc 2t moped, problem is the usal, wont start ?

ive had the engine out,

cleaned the fuel
cleaned the carb, no hole in the float or dirty jets
set the carb up as it should, needle is set correctly
air filter is clean,
semi synthetic oil
unleaded petrol
loads of compression
reed valves are fine
spark plug is new !

cdi works as the plug sparks to the frame, gaskets in the engine are fine, nothings flooded,

anyway to the point, it will not fire up for anything ? and the engine seems fine and clean ? only 500 miles on it ?

possibly a wire problem grounding it out ? any help is apreciated! thank you all.

have you had the spark plug out and turned the engine over and is there a spark? also when you take the plug out is there any petrol on the tip to indicate wether it is pulling fuel into the cylinder? and a little trick i learnt to do is get a little bit of petrol about a tablespoon an pour into the cylinder then put the plug in and start as usual then it should run for a few seconds and either cut out or keep going as sometimes it just needs to be run to get running. if it wont run even when you put your fuel in the cylinder then fuel isnt the problem. so start going through a checklist of problems

good look

Time for the scrap yard by the sounds of it, you know the disposable cameras you get (used to?) well Chinese bikes are a lot like them, your best bet is to swap the engine for a different one perhaps a piaggio or similar branded engines before something else breaks

Or you could do a compression test then top end rebuild buy a new carb new coil stator if you want to waste money and wait weeks for postage by all means go ahead
