Need a rant so thought this may be the best place to get some sympathy and abuse. Wink

1. Took my CBT April 2012
2. Took my theory and obs test May 2012 passed with nearly full marks.
3. Took Mod 1, passed no minors. Went round the course like a boss.
4. Took my Mod 2, July 2012, passed no minors. Examoner commented "That was a perfect ride".

So here is where it gets complicated.

Due to an accident when I was 18 I can't bend my hip joint. So I had a kliktronic gear changer put on the bike.

Examiner makes a note of this and then sends my licence off.

I then get a letter from DVLA asking about my medicla condition.

* Note (Before taking my bike tests I had no legal obligation to inform DVLA, but had to when I took bike tests).

They wrote to my doctor last September, he said it is not a problem and my hip does not affect my riding.

The DVLA want to know if I am fit to ride/drive and am capable of riding a bike safely.

Isn't it blindingly obvious as I have taken all the tests to confirm that I am safe and competent to ride a bike????

The rant is that I have still not goit my licence back yet. Evil or Very Mad

What are the DVLA doing. I phoned them today and they are only just catching up with applications.

What a bunch of twats. Rolling Eyes

I have got photocopies of licence and hard copies of test certificates just in case.

Before long it will be a whole year since thay have had my licence.

Glad I've barely had to deal with them, from all the stories I've heard recently. But you can still ride anyway, right? And just tell your insurer (accurately) that the DVLA still haven't sent you your new licence.

I still haven't had my licence back after my ban ended in January, I've had to fill out 2 medical questionaires and now they've said that it will take them about 8 weeks to get in contact to say if I can have my licence back or not (although I do have the letter saying I can drive/ride until they've completed their investigations).

But they are quick enough at demanding money from people... maybe when they try to rip people off there should be a template letter to hit them with the same bullshit for a few months.

If you're suffering loss, send them an invoice. That's all they do to us.

Be glad, have you had an insurer ask for a scan of your licence?

Oh, I know, I was antsy enough waiting for a couple of weeks for mine! And my insurance company were starting to hound me about it. Good that yours are alright.

I was, at the start of February... I'm still waiting and so are they, (although I have explained the situation and they have said to send proof of NCD and licence when I get them)
