Make something thats adjustable, set it around the right mark then take it to a dyno house and get a print out. Should police/insurers require proof its there if necessary.
Immediately after print out remove the stop! ____________________ Pictorgraphicalfantastical |

Looks to be about 3.5K.
That would be shit to ride.
:edit:
I suppose that's 3.5k at full throttle though.
For comparison I think the ER6 cut it down to like 50% on a 70hp bike. so it would probably be about a 1/3 throttle. |
nice one! ill give it a go see what happens |

If the throttle assembly is the same as the ZX10R, it also has the screw hole, which accepts the ER6 screw. I know because I was going to install it in my mates ZX10R to annoy him. I suspect it's a shared part. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Your idea isn't as stupid as people might think. I did exactly the same thing when I was on a 33bhp license.
The method I used was a cable crimp on one of the thorttle cables at the handlebar end which stopped the throttle from opening fully. That way, if an officer stopped me at the side of the road I could say, 'feel the throttle officer' as it opened about a third.
100mph is about right for a 33bhp bike so if you're easily doing over 100 then it'll be more than 33bhp. ____________________ CBT Passed: 30/08/2009, Theory Passed: 31/08/2010, Mod 1 Passed: 6/9/2010, Mod 2 Passed: 13/09/2010. Restriction ended 13/09/2012.

+1 I was going to say the same thing. A couple of times when I was restricted on my ER-6 with a throttle stop, was enough to placate some people that it was restricted (family members, love 'em).
Without a certificate to hand (which as we all know is garbage), demonstrating a throttle stop to Mr Police Officer, is less likely to get them to actually go to the lengths of having it Dyno'ed etc.
When I checked on a power commander, it literally showed 30% open throttle measured at the Throttle Position Sensor. If the ZX7R has the little threaded hole in the throttle assembly stick the screw in from the ER6 kit. It's not going to be anywhere near 33Bhp, but you can quickly demonstrate it has a restriction on it. Perhaps enough for Mr Police Officer to shrug his shoulders and walk away. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

thanks for all the serious answers...
just a question where can i get hold of one of these ER6 thorttle restrictors and where about is the hole located on my throttle??
as for the people saying the dyno guy would know, well yeah of course he would know lol he will see the throttle doesnt twist as much as it should and think oh right thats how hes restricted it, as far as i know it would be illegal for him to remove anything iv installed as a restrictor i could jam a toothpick in there if i really wanted too
the whole point of this restrictor is to somehow get 33bhp and if thats not possible then atleast show the plods the bike doesnt rev out and is restricted..
if i really wanted too i could install my own thumb screw with a threaded insert that can easily be screwed in and stops the throttle going over 3.5k when iv been pulled |
