 |
|
Hi BCF,
1st of all id just like to say I know im walking into the lions den here asking about a 250cc but for my needs a 250cc is ample why I am not looking for a 600cc machine. In fact I'm selling it for a 250cc.
I have narrowed my search to the inazuma or the cbr250 but being 6ft tall am worried about fitting in, or on the Honda.
Has anyone used both or any of the two bikes looking at for a 6ft'r to fit on
Thanks everyone |

Yes, buy a 250cc, but not either of those In my opinion - having not ridden one, only looking at pictures and specs.. they are both 250cc machines made to 125cc quality levels. Jap 125cc quality levels... only a couple steps away from chinese 125 quality.
Im currently rebuilding two CBR250RR's from 1990 and I must say the build quality was amazing. Mine is a project, I knew exactly what condition they were in. 45horses, 113mpg, 19k rpm and very light.
However there is one CBR250RR left on ebay UK and it appears to be in very good condition, for £3000. Someone needs to buy it. Honestly cant believe people are buying the new cbr250r when this is available. |

First off, have you got a load of money you're happy to chuck away for the sake of having
Why limit your self to a particular size?
The obvious choice I normally mention is a GPS500S.
Someone on here was getting c90 economy by riding at C90 speeds.
You can get decent economy from 'normal' speeds too and a lot less depreciation.

How about the KTM Duke 200/390? I've even had heretical thoughts of swapping my Sprint 1050ST for the 390.. ride like a hooligan and still get 60mpg+?[/img]
Or you could get an SV650, a suspension upgrade and save more money in deprecation than the extra you spend on fuel?
Only use 47hp and the mpg will probably go up on the SV too. |

ive owned loads of the late 80s-90s 2 and 4 stroke 250cc bikes (nz learner cc rating)
and ive ridden a couple of the "new" 250 cc twins,
to me the new ones are jus a re-hash of the old kawasaki ex250 suzukis gsx250 yamahas xs250, they wern't inspiring then, they certainly arn't now,
if i was forced into buying a new-ish 250, i'd buy a single cylinder,
and one that doesnt pretend its a sports bike,
that sort of leaves the dirt bikes, or the commuters
and may be the kawasaki z250 (is that available in the uk?? )
ktm duke 200 or 390
if i had my way id buy another cbr250rr with the gear driven cams and the 19k rpm redline or the suzuki rgv250 the goose 350 was awesome too ____________________ the humans are dead
