It was going to happen sooner or later, set off with the stand down,

Turned right out of where I'd parked and as I rode over a sunken drainage channel (with metal grid over it) hear a clunking noise which I presume to be the stand coming back up.

anything I should be checking for damage wise?

Stand seems solid, can be pressed down towards the bike when it's down as though there is play in the bolt but I think it's always done this

bike is the ZZR

Fix the cut-out switch, it's clearly not working.

Doesn't the ZZR have the side stand switch to prevent this or have you disabled it?

Make sure the stand hasn't got any cracks in it? If it looks alright it probably is. Make sure the bolt is tight still and ride many miles.

You're lucky. I was expecting to say you crashed...

I doubt there has been any damage, and you've got away with it... Jammy.

You might have left a nasty mark on the drainage channel. Wink

Maybe worth a quick pitch-inspection of your underpants.

When the dealer fitted alarm died and was removed the indicator and horn stopped working.

Replacing fuses didn't work as the circuit is built into the fuse box, fixing the indicators and horn has caused the sensor to stop working along with the neutral light.

To fix it would require replacing the fuse box.

it was the late 90's most bikes were being fitted with alarms at the dealers. No idea which dealer as the bike has had a few owners over the years, Was a laserline system and worked ok until it started to die earlier this year so had it removed.

Not just then. My ER-6 had an annoying problem when I bought it, clocks would reset after ignition on/off. Tried everything, even new clocks, then went to were I should've gone in the first place. Datatool alarm had clearly been installed by a tool, they had immobilised the power to the ECU (which is fair), but it's the same line to the clocks. It was one of two circuits immobilised, so I just re-connected this one.

Hi

Done it quite a few times. Possible it could damage the frame, but pretty unlikely

All the best

Did it on my mod 2 - getting out of the test office car park. Whistle

Not sure why the CBF600 didn't stall when I tried to set off. Although having said that it was a bit of a shitter.

Of course, I thought I'd kicked it up - but it had not gone all the way. A fatal combination of rider error, lack of lubricant where stand meets frame, and tired spring made for insta-fail.
