Evening all,

So, i have some issues with my little bike, i have trawled the internet and tried to sort it but haven't come close.

The issue is my 2 stroke is not starting (suzuki gp100). Here is the list i have gone through;
It has a spark, blue and strong (i think) and the plug is gapped correctly.
Fuel is getting to the carb, and all the jets are clear, carb is working properly.
Compression is fine, have had the head off and the piston and rings are good. No scoring on the cylinder etc.

From what i can see, there doesnt seem to be much suction to draw fuel and air from the carb and into the engine. The timing is done via a nippon denser pid unit, the stator plate is mounted correctly with all the timing marks lined up so i dont think timing is an issue.

My experience with 2 stroke engines is nil so any help is appreciated.

Yep, i believe it was installed by the factory onto later gp125s, however it seems that a previous owner has substituted this in place of the points and condenser.

Following the haynes manual i have tested the ignition circuit as much as possible with a multimeter and it all seems fine.

if you aren't getting much suck through the carb,suggestion is leaks i induction tract and or the crank-case seals are shot.

Cheers, that makes sense. I haven't tried to disassemble the engine as on first inspection the bolts are completely seized and i dont want to have them shear off or round off when i try and undo them.... Unless there is another way i can check the seals.

As Mike points out CC seals can be a big issue with long standing 2T but I would have thought it would run-ish, gutless but run..

Can you check spark is 2 degs or so BTDC

Did I write that after a trip to the pub ? I think I must have meant 2mm. A pencil down the plug hole and watching the spark pluig might be possible to get a rough idea..
