If you're sure it's assembled right give the shaft ends a good hard crack with a plastic-faced hammer. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Don't throw the shims out - try removing all of them first to see if it solves the problem. If it does, you will need to put the correct thickness of shims back in to remove end-float, as the new bearings may be slightly bigger than the old ones.
The workshop manual should tell you how to measure end-float and setup the shims - (usually involves a dial-gauge or a micrometer). ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

As miss crabstick and Vincent. You could also check the crank bearings are pressed in enough and gbox bearings. Sometimes the gbox shifter drum and selectors keep everything jammed up until full assembly.
If its an older model then check every part, including crankcases for damage and check any gears are not back to front and that gbox shaft circlips are correctly seated. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs.
