hi all im hoping some one can help i have a cbr 125 2007 now it will start perfect and idle but as soon as you touch the throttle it just sputters and dies,
ive cleaned the carb checked all the pipes for blockages etc
fuel pump pushes fuel through when turning ignition on,
new plug sparks really well checked the reg with multi all is fine
so what on earth is causing this to die any ideas please?

Had you changed anything before it stopped working?

Some easy things to try:

Air leak somewhere - check the rubbers around the airbox and carb

Blocked fuel tank vent - try running with the filler cap open.

thanks for reply i just tried the petrol cap off but no difference checked for vacuum leaks = none, even if i open the air box and cover it with my hand it makes no difference just stalls, so im buying a used throttle body with injector and the 2 black boxes on the side as my black boxes are seized on and one of the bolts i managed to get out is really rusty so im hoping one of the black boxes is the issue, will update in couple days when it comes through,

Did it work fine before you fiddled with it? Genuine question - because it does sound carb set up related

Something isn't right here.

Carb model CBR125s don't have a fuel pump, it's gravity fed with a vacuum tap. The newer Injection models have pumps but obviously not carbed

Which model do you have?

From threads passim.

Cuts out at low revs?

#1 Throttle position sensor electronic bullshit.
#2 Lambda probe electronic bullshit.
#3 Leak between the airbox and inlet.
#4 Your plug is fouled or fucked. Let's see it.

Although are you sure there are no leaks? Have you sprayed WD-40 around the throttle body and verified that there's no rise in revs?

Absent that, and if your battery is fully charged (I assume so, if you've gone in with a multimeter) then I would assume "electronic bullshit" in the oxygen or throttle position sensor, and hopefully that's one of the "black boxes" that you're about to replace.
