Well thats the reason you check them at the service intervals. As it might "seem fine" right until its not because your vavles have slowly just got more and more out of spec.
Personally I get them done so I know, not take some bloke's mates uncle on his dads friends forum who did 100k on a engine and never checked them. Your bike, your choice though.

Honda or whoever specify service intervals for a reason. Of course we can ignore and take the advice of forum "experts".
