2013 Wk sp125 clocks...

Hi there

I have a WK Bikes Sp125 with a clock issue. It is a digital jobby with display showing speed, temperature and fuel level; then a needle for rpm. For some reason the speedo and odometer have pretty much stopped working, the fuel indicator is constantly flashing empty even with a full tank, yet the needle, temp, indicators and lights display are still working. Had the front wheel off this morning, cleaned and re greased the speedo drive yet the problem persists. Any ideas would be muchly appreciated!

Quick update, have now tried a brand new clock set, still got the same issues. Any ideas at all?

How old is it? Out of warranty I gather?

Sounds like:

A snapped speedo cable. The strands might still be catching a bit and giving you the odd reading.

A dodgy fuel sender.

For the former, I'd detach the cable at both ends and check if the inner is intact, then replace if necessary.

For the latter, I'd put some tape over the light.

Haha great stuff. Don't know much about bikes generally, but had the speedo drive off, took it apart, cleaned and re-greased the whole unit. Can't see a way to get the wire out of it at all, looks to be a sealed unit with a 3 point electrical connector that plugs into the wiring loom just below the clocks. Just wondered if there might be anything 'electrical' to look for as both speedo and fuel indicator bust at the same time. For now I will take the advice and stick some electrical tape over the flashing indicators
