For the areas circled. These are the headlight mounts. I can not remember what nuts were originally there, suspect it was those nuts on a clip.

Is there a better option?

There is a better way. Make up a bracket and fit the headlamp to the subframe. Then you don't have a big heavy thing attached to the inside of your plastic fairing by flimsy plastic lugs.

However yes, they are usually held on with those captive nuts on clips.

Dunno if this helps but mine is in bits so I took some photos to help me put it back together again.

The two holes above the headlight take a couple of clips - the inner clip is secured with an M5 bolt and a washer, the outer clip secures the trim panel and takes a standard fairing bolt I think.

The hole in the centre takes a clip and an M5 also.

Thanks for the pics, I think I had those clips sieze so I superglued wellnuts instead. Fine until you take it off.

SW - that would be quite a challenge, but the headlight does slot into the subframe so its weight is supported, these mounts just keep the headlight in the fairing slot and add a lot of rigidity to the fairing, theres also two nut inserts below.

I think Im going to clean it up, abs-slurry glue abs sheet in place to about 10mm thick, with an m5 nut insert.

Those , ' nuts on clips' are called chimney nuts, so it seems https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M6-M8-M10-LONG-REACH-CHIMNEY-U-NUT-LUG-NUTS-SPEED-SPIRE-CAPTIVE-CLIPS-THREADED/323992945875?hash=item4b6f7c04d3:g:H00AAOSwQApd3RqG
