Throttle Slide not Moving when Screwed in

My throttle cable snapped, so I replaced it. The problem is that now it won't work. When the slide is out of the carb if the cable springs as expected, but once I screw it in I get nothing.

The slide is correctly aligned with the groove. Any help would be massively appreciated.

My bike is a Lexmoto Venom 125 (not EFI).

If it slides all the way down when you re-assembled it then the cable should be able to pull it back up - unless you've mis-placed the nipple somewhere (oo-err).

Are you assuming the notch for the idle screw is the notch for holding the slide in position and vice versa?

You will have made a mistake when putting it back together. Slow right down, do it again and don't force anything.

Is the needle going all the way into the needle jet? Easy to get it in cock-eyed.
