Okay,

I bought an oxford disc lock (Not the dodgy one!)....

Put it on the disc and it works just fine. The question is, is that I got a metal bracket and a twirly keyfob thing...What am I supposed to do with them? They are obviously to link the disc lock to something to remind me, but there is no instructions...?!?

Am I a Nooobbbiieee or what?

Doobs.

Just put the end which has the "rope" type material, IN the disc lock and the other end (should be a round bit of metal) on your front brake lever or possibly the clutch lever. When I mean IN the disc lock, I mean, put it in before attaching it to your brake disc so its jammed inbetween lock and disc.

I use it when away from home but not when parked up outside. I'd rather not draw a thieves attention to it in the hope that he takes it off the sidestand and then drops it because he didnt notice the disc lock Laughing .....He hopes.

Don't rely on it too much. Apparently some barstewards like to nick the twirly things so you forget and mess up your bike. Check out this old thread for handy alternative hints etc.

Hope it helps Thumbs Up
