I was just wondering i have got a oil leak on my bike near 2 the
starter motor the bike is a bandit 600 it only leaks when switch off
there is always a little bit of oil on the ground i was just wondering could this be the gasket has got a small gap & how hard would this job be to do hence replace gasket i have not taken a bike apart before but want 2 do the job myself any advice much welcome cheers

Are you sure it's not just chain lube dripping off the front sprocket area - it collects behind the casing and drips down when the bike's stood.

yeah i am sure it not chain lube cos there is 2much there at times but it might b excess not sure Sad but i think the seal has gone Question

Mine had this problem, I cured it by replacing the seal behind the front sprocket, the seal around the gear change rod, and the seal around the gear change rod.

Be careful when installing the gears not to damage the seals when installing them and not to move the gearchange rod around as you may not being able to change gear, as I did, but a quick dismantle and wiggle of the change and it all cae back good.

katana has prob got it right , its prob the seal behind the drive sprocket , which will heat up and expand (seal the gap ) as the bike gets warm , and will contract (expose the gap ) as engine cools .. not a big job , just be carefull as katana says , not to damage the new seal putting it in ..
