Ok today was my second day on the road with my RS125, i wake up at about 8 have 4/6 lessons free but have to go do photography coursework so ride in and basically i forgot some photos and had to be in today so had to drive back! it 22 miles each way so today i did 88miles, im killing and feel really drained as never done that much!! The CDI restriction really pissed me off aswell but was easier to ride today, however i have just taken my bike apart and derestrcted the CDI and hope it works!! i going to get bus in tomorrow as today took a lot of my petrol money!!

The point is it was really cool driving today when all my friends in lessons (well most werent) but sucks as not used to that much driving and aching from it! well guess it will help in the long run!

thats the thing i have no idea, i fueled up twice today but dont know how much its got left, i put it £9ish of 98 and be running it in so revs were quite low, on my ped £9 was x2 the journey so was think this would be simular to RS? any idea on how to check? i tryed shaking it but have no clue what it sounds like full and empty so a bit clueless!lol, had it on reserve after 2 out of the 4 length on journey and fill up at start of 3/4, if that make sence!

any idea how to check how much is left WN?

You will get around 100 miles to a tank of petrol before you have to go onto reserve, maybe a little more when you have to keep it at low revs.

open the tank, it'll be dark so you will need a match or something to be able to see in there, that will tell you! Laughing

nah just fill the bike, set the trip meter to zero when you do, and see how many miles you go till you hit reserve! then do the maths

I am not so sure that using silicone sealant in contact with wiring is such a good idea. Confused Silicone sealant is usually made up with ethanoic acid (vinegar) which would corrode wiring and electrical connections Neutral

Did the stuff you used smell of vinegar?

Epoxy resin would be better for that kind of job.

If you used bathroom sealant, it almost certainly has ethanoic acid in it. If you have got the stuff on any bare metal connections or printed circuits it is very likely to corrode them, possibly quite quickly (think what would happen if you left a copper coin in a glass of vinegar overnight).

I would try and get the stuff off if I were you. Not sure how best to do it as the stuff is sticky as hell.

Off the top of my head, I would probably use some paper towel to remove as much as you can then maybe flush it out with a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) to neutralise the acid. Follow this by a flush out with clean water then allow it to dry fully. As long as there is no power going through it until it is dry, water shouldn't damage anything.

I would then seal the hole properly with epoxy.

:EDIT:

Quote:
Not recommended for bonding to substrates where acetic acid released during cure could react to the surfaces to which the sealant is in contact. (E.g. concrete, cement, mortar, certain metals).
