Clutch pin

I was replacing the clutch worm which is what drives the clutch pin into the engine thus engaging the clutch.
However I cant seem to get the clutch to engage. Im thinking the clutch pin isnt going far enough into the engine.

Any ideas why?

Hmmmmmmm, conventional Suzuki push rod operated clutch, they don't normally give trouble.

The worm drive (17) pushes the two pushrods against the operating bit (16) and moves the presure plate against the springs.

If you've had the worm drive to bits then you may need to wind it round so far before bolting it back on to sort of pre-load it. If you pull up on the split bracket that holds the cable nipple you should feel it starting to push against the pushrods.

Looking at the side of the engine, I'd guess the cable operating arm should be at about the four o'clock position so that when the cable's adjusted up it pulls it upwards, screwing the worm drive out onto the pushrod.

Screw the cable adjusters at both ends all the way in. then undo locknut #19 and screw the grub screw #18 in until you feel it hit the pushrod. Back it off 1/4 turn and tighten the locknut.

Now take up nearly all the cable slack on the adjuster at the sprocket cover, leaving the adjuster on the bar lever to take up the last little bit of play.
