I know some models using the Honda V4 have heat shields to prevent this. However, I've heard they can come loose. On the VFR 750/800 there are heat shields behind the footpegs. Worth checking if these or any of the others have been bent or moved. Also check to see if the exhaust hangers have been moved or bent adjusting the exhaust position slightly.

Yeah I was a little worried about this before, my VFR really gets cooking when it’s humid.
Remember also that in the warmer months you are warmer yourself, when it is cold and you legs are cold the bike producing the heat feels a lot warmer than it should. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
