 |

Okay so maybe not 50bhp
I got totally sick and tired of my RS having crappy knackered bar ends and soft worn out squidgy grips, so I went to Hein Gericke and got some new Renthal grips, and some Motrax (anodised) CARBON FIBRE bar ends!!!!
I decided to plump for hard compound grips, as I've been put right off soft compound ones. I also ended up going for gold anodized bar ends, complete with REAL CARBON FIBRE inserts .
The grips were a bit (or a lot) of a bugger to get on, but once they were on they were fine .
Same goes for the bar ends, and now I'm left with a bike that looks a lot better.
I took the bike for a run round the local area after fitting them, and the difference in feel is definitley noticable. Now I can feel every bump on the road through the grips - they're only a small thing but they've changed how the bike feels .
All in all, not bad for £23 and 15 minutes work .

the purpose of bar ends are to absorb some of the buzzy vibes, byt introducing more inertia to mass required to be moved by the vibrations. by using lighter bar ends, you're removing this added inertia and you might find the bars more buzzy/vibey.
Also, it mght be real carbon fibre, but it's still only carbon fibres which have been moulded using (probably) a polyester resin, and is just the same as glassfibre, except it's black.
Proper carbon fibre has been pressure treated, with special resins, in an autoclave to make it superlight and super strong.
90% of the Carbon goodies you see are pure cosmetic.
sorry
it looks nice, but they serve no purpose, and in my opinion, are inferior to an OE part

Not bothered .
They look sparkly, and the bars don't buzz . ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

The bar ends on the other hand are inexcusable, sorry m8 but I think they look cheap and tacky |

Those bar ends are horrendous.
I think you would of been better off investing in some T-Cut and sorting out that tank! ____________________ BCF: Be yourself, just don't be an arse. |

I assume you lubed the grips before trying to get them on?
I remember once seeing a guy in a workshop using two screwdrivers to desperately roll and prise a grip off.
I prised the grip up a bit, squirted in a good deal of WD40, and the grip slipped off like a used condom; It literally fell off under its own weight.
Went back on just as easy. WD40 - Id marry it if I could. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

I just used fairy liquid to slide 'em on .
G they do not look bad at all, they will look even better with my carbon fibre subframe covers, jl exhaust system, billet brake reservoir lid, carbon yoke protector, (new) yoke bolt thingie, and other random sparkly bits . ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

Carbon fibre effect?!
I was under the impression that they were actually fabricated from carbon fibre. They look gash. If you had to have a design on gold/ yellow, I'd go for a black & white chequered effect. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
